Sheena Raeburn FLI
"the eye sees what it didn't see before, or sees in a new way what it had already seen." Nan Shepherd, The Living Mountain
Sheena Raeburn is an artist who creates abstract landscape paintings drawing inspiration from exploring the edges of Scotland. Drawn from fragments of memories and dreams, her work is a dance between the known and unknown.
She paints intuitively, bringing forward memories of colour, form and atmosphere. She is seeking to immerse the viewer in the sensory experience of wind and warmth, scent, light and water.
As an Artist and Landscape Architect, she also holds a Masters in Design and Honours Degree in Textile Design, and her paintings show an early influence of working with colour, texture and pattern.
Sheena was selected to exhibit at the annual RSW exhibition at The Mound in January 2024. She donated and sold a painting for the Architecture meets Art auction in 2023 to raise funds for the restoration of a community hall in Balmacara.
